Layer upon layer of soft brown sugar sponge, intertwined with a mixed nut praline and whipped cream. A medley of textures–soft, crisp, creamy. Inspired by a Russian honey cake.
This is a fairly time consuming bake with the sponges being baked one at a time, but one that I believe is worth it for the end result. A weekend project, perhaps. I recommend making the praline the day before to reduce the amount of work you do on the day of making the cake.
